Professional Landscape Design

Led by our own landscape artist, our experienced team of landscapers will work with you on projects of all sizes to create customized gardens and specialized landscapes.

Depending on the project and your landscaping interests, we are happy to provide free consultations, where we will visit the proposed site and explore a variety of options with you.

While colorful perennial beds, supplemented with seasonal displays of annual bedding plants are an especially popular choice for medium-sized gardens,

your landscaping and gardening options are limitless.  Where there is little light and ample moisture, we may recommend a naturalized or Japanese woodland shade garden.  Our custom-designed and installed stone and log walkways are a particular favorite in such cases.  Our collection of unique rustic and traditional pergolas, gazebos, arbors, pagodas, and rotundas are also a frequent choice for such settings, as well as in many of our other landscape themes and designs.

For dry sunny areas, we may suggest xeriscaping, or installing plantings that are both hardy and native to our area and which are extremely drought-tolerant.  Succulents and other rock garden favorites are particularly useful for this purpose and can be adapted to small, medium, or large garden settings, with our professionally installed field stones and boulders.

Where steep hillsides and awkward slopes present a challenge, we may recommend that the site be terraced, which will provide several levels on which to plant and can incorporate either winding paths or formal staircases.  Irregular boulders, varying sizes of quarried stone, brick, and natural timbers can all be used for the purpose of terracing, which we will install to be both functional and beautiful.

For low-lying sites and to attract wildlife, we may suggest a natural pond, surrounded by moisture-loving and aquatic plants.  Where drainage is an issue, a dry creek bed may provide the ideal solution.

Our foundation plantings are designed by working closely with you, the homeowner, to determine your particular style, seasons of interest, and any special requirements you may have.

Where old-fashioned charm is called for, we may recommend an English cottage garden or Victorian garden, which emphasize blowsy flowering heirloom varieties, grown in informal abundance.   Such gardens are a wonderful way to attract birds and butterflies to your yard.

Herb and vegetable gardens are also an option, and can be designed with any degree of structure, from formal to country farmhouse in style.

From four-season evergreen shrubs and trees to spring-flowering plantings whose foliage provide autumn interest, we select the plantings that are appropriate for your needs and setting.  Whether you are seeking a new landscape purely for aesthetic reasons or relief from strong winds or an unsightly view, our exceptionally high standards of design and workmanship will ensure beautiful, quality results.

All plant selections are from our extensive selection of field-grown nursery stock, as well as additional plantings from our extensive network of nurseries and quality growers.
